It’s time to write a second letter, and if it applies, cite the Tenant Protection Ordinance.
The Tenant Protection Ordinance allows tenants to identify forms of harassment, the ordinance states that the landlord needs to stop harassing you by not doing repairs, and if they don’t stop it gives you an option to file a small claims suit for the harassment or to file a civil suit with a lawyer. Find out if you have TPO protections.
If you aren’t covered under the Tenant Protection Ordinance or you do not want to use the Tenant Protection ordinance, you can still file a lawsuit for not having a habitable unit, you can talk to a private lawyer. If you know your neighbors are also going through repair issues with your landlord you can organize your building!
