Dear { landlord_name }

I have am a tenant at {tenant_address}.

I am writing to request repairs in my unit. As a housing provider, you are required to make repairs to my unit to ensure it is habitable and in compliance with California state and local building and health codes. As of today, the following repairs need to be competed:

It is your responsibility under the California Civil Code Section 1941.1 (“Warranty of  Habitability”) to make the above-mentioned repairs.  Please respond to this letter in writing within five (5) days to let me know when and how you plan to complete these repairs.  As a reminder you are obligated to provide me with written notice at least 24 hours in advance of any time you, or your agent, intend to enter the unit to make repairs.  

Also, please be advised that California Civil Code Section 1942.5 prohibits you from retaliating against me for having exercised my legal right to request repairs.
